STEP 1 |
Getting your forms |
|
You either wait for the paperwork to arrive by mail or brave the traffic to obtain the necessary forms at the nearest IRB office. |
You make a trip to your nearest IRB office to collect your PIN number to access e-filing |
Your forms are readily available and a FILLED copy can be printed. |
|
STEP 2 |
Understanding your income and relief |
|
You have to read the IRB handbook to guide you on how to fill the BE Form. |
You have to rely on the IRB handbook as well as the walkthrough provided. |
The TaxBuddy system will ensure there are no tax jargons. English, Chinese, or Malay languages supported. |
|
STEP 3 |
Starting with your return |
|
You pick up a pen and paper, bring out your trusty calculator, and tabulate the figures that will go into the Borang BE. |
You do the same as you would for the Manual Form. |
You answer a few straightforward questions, and before you know it, the Form is done. |
|
STEP 4 |
Filing your returns |
|
You make a copy of your form and head to your nearest IRB branch for filing. |
You perform your filing online. |
You can choose between filing your taxes online or printing out your completed forms for physical filing. |
|
STEP 5 |
Answering the Taxman (tax audit) |
|
You break open that big box in which you had stored away all your records and workings on the tax filing (if you can find them) and hope that your workings are all correct. |
If you had done the workings as you would do for a manual filing, great! If you had entered the figures off the cuff, you better start drawing up some calculations. |
You open up your Taxsaya program, click on the “Print” button, and bring along your actual bills and receipts. |
