Hi,
I'm understand that a tax rebate capped at RM3000 can be availed once in 3 years for computer purchases.

i was told by a friend i could purchase a computer in Singapore and then claim it under this Computer Rebate scheme.  Is this acceptable?

my friend also said i could buy books on Amazon.com and Ebay.com and the claim them under the 500RM book/magazine rebate as well.

is this allowed? or do the purchases have to be made in malaysia?

thanks

There are no limitations on place of purchase for books & computers. However, the conversion rate on the IRB site shall apply.

Hope that helps....

Hello Doki81,

No...the relief is only given for the purchase of an assembled computer (not the parts)
